A great book that children will love and recognize forever. This is a great book for teaching rhyming, and learning to try new things before we judge.

After being pestered throughout the book, the unnamed character agrees to try the eggs and he finds that he really does like green eggs and ham.

Corduroy
One of my favorite books as a child, Corduroy is a classic! This poor little bear sits on the shelf day after day, no one wants to buy him, because he has a missing button. One day a little girl comes by and wants him so badly, but her mama says no, because he is missing a button. At night, Corduroy finds a button, and that is the start to the rest of his life. What happens next, well get the book and find out.

The Giving Tree
The giving tree is a story of unconditional love. As the boy grows, he continually takes things from the tree, but the tree doesn't mind. The tree is like a mother figure that continues to give to the child. The tree gives so much, that it let's the boy cut it down and turn it into a boat. As the boy grows and returns to the tree as an old man, the tree tells him, "I have nothing left to give to you", the old man replies to the tree that he only needs a place to rest. The tree replies that she has a stump where he can sit, and he does, and she is very happy.
This book is a great book for all to read.

Pirates Don't Change Diapers
My love for pirates has begun. This was one of the first books that was given to me as I started on my journey of becoming a teacher. As I read this book to myself and then to some of my children, I discovered that I love pirates. This book is just so much fun, and there are other books by Melinda Long and David Shannon that go right along with Pirates don't change diapers. I encourage every parent and teacher to buy these books, and start a love of reading in your child today!
The Polar Express
Author Chris Van Alsburg, born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI. wrote a book which is superb, in all sense of the word. The story line is amazing, the pictures are out of this world, and the imagery in this story brings back personal memories. If you look close in this book, you will find that Chris Van Alsburg has added some houses from the neighborhood in which he grew up, in East Grand Rapids, MI. I love this book and you will too.
Bonus - This book has a movie to it now, so you can read the book with your child, and then watch the movie, and talk about how they are the same or different.
