My Purpose
The purpose for this website, is so that I can put my name out in the world, for all to see. It is my objective, to become an Elementary Teacher, and with this website, I hope people will be able to get to know me, and find me the right candidate for a teaching career.
On this website, you will find information about me, as well as links to very cool and educational websites that I have used in the past. You will find some of my favorite books, that have been crucial in my education, and some that are just for fun.
I started my very first blog on this website which is new for me, because I always felt a blog was irrelevant. With this new blog, I will be able to share new ideas with you, and things that I have learned. I will try to post at least once a week, if not more.
I hope that you enjoy this website, and learn lots.

Why I Became a Teacher
My educating of young children started about 8 years ago when I started working in a program known as AWANA. AWANA is a bible club for boys and girls. After helping out in AWANA for a couple of years, I took over as SPARKS Director. SPARKS is a part of the AWANA clubs, it is just for younger children. This program is geared for those in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. I have continued to enjoy every aspect of this experience.
When I was in high school, I started volunteering for my former first grade teacher Mrs. Gebhardt. She was my favorite teacher. As I worked in her classroom, she gave me new ideas, and challenged me to do new things. She inspired me to become a teacher, so that way I could have an impact on children just like she had on me.
Though my favorite teacher and everyone I knew told me I should be a teacher, I fought the desire and studied accounting in school.
As I entered college at Grand Rapids Community College, I worked very hard in my Business and Accounting classes however, after a year of hating all that I was doing, and not doing as well as I had intended, I left the program, listened to my teachers advise, and went into teaching. Since I started studying to be a teacher, I have loved all that I have done. After a year of school at Grand Rapids Community College, I transferred to Ferris State University.
As I entered school at Ferris State University, I was offered a position as a Classroom Assistant in the Universities Preschool Program. I fell in love with the children, as well as the job. I have been teaching children ever since.
Watching children learn, is one of the biggest dreams that I have. It is my hopes that every child will learn something new from me, and when I see that light bulb go off in their head, I know they have learned that one thing I was hoping for.
